In 1993, with an eye to offering stock market services to its clients, the Banco Popular y de Desarrollo Comunal acquired a concession to operate within the stock market.
Between 1993 and 2000, as part of its service offering, Banco Popular offered stock market services to its clients. Since then, 100% of its staff has been trained in stock market matters.
Beginning in 2000, with the reform of Law 7732: The Regulatory Law on the Securities Market, the independent limited company Popular Valores S.A. was launched; its share capital is wholly owned by Banco Popular y de Desarrollo Comunal.
As part of the Banco Popular Financial Conglomerate, we have generated significant business volume, which in recent years has positioned us among the top rankings for stock market operations.
We currently manage a portfolio of just over CRC ¢37.1 billion, approximately U.S. $60 million.
